Recently Greater Noida has got a residential project
exclusively for Muslims. This is the first time when any residential project is
exclusively designed for any particular religion in Delhi. We have earlier many
instances that group-based residential projects in Delhi-NCR. These group based
residential projects do not have any communal intention while all the group
based residential projects are secular in nature. These group based residential
projects are economic in nature like – middle income group projects , lower
income group residential projects , NRI city for highly opulent class of the society etc. But the exclusively
deigned apartments for Muslims are new in Delhi-NCR. The media has taken this
step as communal approach but in a broader sense it is a new concept of living
in a community of like-minded people. This kinds of approach would definitely
bring the new horizon in the cultural development.
If we talk about other residential projects of Delhi-NCR. These
are completely free from particular cultural aspects. The common aspect in
economic status which bring like –minded people together and it’s free from
religious aspects. Ajnara Belvedere is a project for cream class people where
the like economic status would live and it will be different from religious
aspect. These kinds of secular residential projects have religious aspects are
private in natural but the newly proposed residential projects of Greater Noida
has religious aspect is public in nature. But this is not showing any communal
aspect but most of the social scientists of India have proposed that few number
of specific residential projects for minorities are good for cultural
enrichment but the development of residential project with different goal can
give problem in future. It is because the basics of Indian culture is based on
secularism and large scale of these kinds of religion based development would
lead to polarization and which ultimately head to disaster. It is important to
note that religion based residential is not bad rather it’s a great idea to
enrich Indian culture but the polarization is bad.
The constitution of India gives equal respect to all the
religion of India. So this is the great approach and it will bring new
amplitude of religious aspect in the land of Delhi-NCR. Since ages, Hindus and
Muslims were living together with peace and happiness but in recent time only
handful number of people from both the community trying to polarization of
religion. On this perspective many social scientists are of the view that the
communal forces of India might get the opportunity for social unrest.
Considering this aspect they have proposed that this project should give the
theme of Islamic culture but also invite the people from different community.
But if we talk in a broader way then it’s really great
approach for religious enrichment as well as this kinds of projects are
becoming hot cake in India. If these kinds of projects have not any conservative
goal then India would become very powerful country of the world.
